Basics Mindset Training – Schedule.
FRESHMAN + JUNIOR PARENTS- please read. August 10 is Try Out week for all Fall sports. (see below)
The try out experience as high school freshmen SCREAMS OUT Mindset training. New school, new players, new coaches, new facilities, unknown expectations, higher competition among MANY NEW VARIABLES. Be ready. A private mindset session (or even a group session) is not just recommended, frankly it’s required if you hope to position your son or daughter to be ready for these variables, uncertainties and pressure of a high school try out (ANY SPORT). This same situation is in effect for JUNIORS who are now trying out for varsity. (assuming as an underclassman they played JV) I believe there is more pressure here than with any other high school try out. There will likely be seniors with safe spots, as well as high performing underclassmen (Frosh and Sophs) that must be contended with as well. NOT playing well as junior in try outs could mean the end of their HS career. It is what it is. I could talk all day about the attributes of the Mindset! Bottom line is this – whoever comes through this training and embraces the tools we teach will GO FOR IT. There will be no hesitation (nor should there be). Now is the time to literally GO FOR IT, and critically accept the results, forget any poor play and then guess what? GO FOR IT AGAIN!! ADVANCED – there is no justification for failing to trust. Most private sessions are by appointment. call 616 402-1600.
Ideally get this training ASAP to give the athletes time to create a ROUTINE with these tools. But given how tight schedules are, KNOW THE TRY OUT DATES and get that athlete in front of Coach McGannon a week or 2 BEFORE that try out begins.
Open to athletes in any sport. All sessions w/Coach McGannon (bio) who played 2 sports at Dartmouth and pro golf for 5 years (Q-School twice) Call 616 402-1600 to arrange an individual time for you or your team. Parents and coaches attend at NO COST.

- SPRING – Baseball, Boys Golf, Lacrosse, Girls Soccer, Softball, Girls Tennis, Track + Field
- TIP: Get the full team in for Mindset training. Examples below.
- Players/Teams with this training have a distinct advantage, especially UNDER PRESSURE.
