Weather Related Cancellations:

Parents are NEVER obligated to attend if the weather is bad AND they will NOT LOSE that training date.  They may come another date at no cost. We will make the call no later than 100 PM.  This will be POSTED HERE, on the IBL page

Instructional Basketball League

  1. U-12 Co-Ed Division
  2. Middle School Boys

The IBL combines competitive play with skill development. Our focus is on INDIVIDUAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT, there is no team component although many teammates play together.  There are no tryouts, no plays, no zones, no admission, no travel, no ill-mannered grownups, no lost weekends, no club nonsense.  Just the most competitive training anywhere.

Important question from Coach McGannon: what are these kids doing in middle school (5th-8th grades)?  Please watch this Candid Shots Video.  A large % of these players are UNPREPARED for team basketball.

“Basics IBL is the best prep because they teach the skills better than anyone.”

NOTE: this kid can dribble, pass and shoot because of this training. Reps + Precise instruction is the Basics model.

The IBL was founded in 2009 and provides the best skills and competitive training for young players hoping to make their school teams. We combine specific skill drills and structured scrimmaging to help our players improve.  Since 2009, many of the BEST PLAYERS in West Michigan have been IBL trained.

Our group training sessions are small (limited to 12-14 players), so players get lots of repetition and very little downtime. Developing technical skills requires thousands of reps. PARENTS:  no choice combines skill development in a competitive setting better than the IBL.  RELATED: why teaching plays makes no sense at these formative ages.  4:04

Significant benefit:  If you miss a date (sickness, school function, family issue), that player may attend ANOTHER DATE AT NO COST.  Very flexible.

TIP: Grab a Private Training session in conjunction with our IBL.

These young players are at the key ages where if they are trained properly and learn the correct drills, their improvement can only be measured by their own effort and commitment.  These privates provide the tools for growth.
